Both identical in layout & amenities.
I’ve stayed at both & found myself enjoying both hotels.
There are some things Dockside offers that Surfside doesn’t have like having 2 pools & 2 pool side bars, a bar in the lobby with lounge area.
Dockside’s cafe is bigger than Surfside so the have more food offerings. If torn between which of the two hotels to stay at, I’d look at the food options that both hotels offer & base your stay off of that.
Keep in mind Surfside is smaller & I found it easier to get from room to lobby, whereas Dockside is a bit of a stretch.
Note- Since Dockside is bigger & more people can stay there, it can cause a big line for elevators.
If I had to choose between Dockside or Surfside, I’d go Surfside.
