Planning a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando can be a little overwhelming. The easiest way to ensure a great trip is by strategically picking your dates.

I’ve narrowed down the best and worst times to visit Universal Orlando Resort. These are based on personal experience, Team Members, online data, and scheduled events.

The best times to visit Universal Orlando in 2022-2023

  • Jan. 4-14,

  • Jan. 25 - Feb. 12

  • Feb. 22 - March 5

  • 2nd half of August

  • Most days in September

    • Minus Fridays with Halloween Horror Nights

  • Most weekdays in October

    • Minus Fridays with Halloween Horror Nights

  • Weekdays in November

    • Minus the week of Thanksgiving)

  • 1st two weeks in December

    • Avoid the week of Christmas and New Year's Eve if at all possible.

Keep these in mind when planning your Universal Vacation

  • Weekdays are typically less crowded.

    •  If you have to schedule during the peak months, go during the week.

  • ​Holidays, Florida Spring Break, Summer Break, Halloween and Christmas through New Years are the busiest.

  • Check to see if your dates fall during events at Universal Orlando.

    • Ex: HHN, Mardi Gras, Holidays at Universal.

    • Concert dates

  • The Holiday season for Universal Orlando typically starts the second week of November and lasts through the second week of January.

  • Overall, January and February draw the least crowds, and are considered to be off season for the Orlando theme parks
