How to Use Universal Orlando’s Virtual Line Experience for The Grinch Meet & Greet 2022
A visit to Universal Orlando Resort during the Holiday season wouldn’t be complete without doing the Grinch Meet & Greet. This year, the Grinch is meeting guests at Honk Honkers instead of All the Books You Can Read. In order to meet the Grinch in 2022 (for free) you’ll need to utilize Universal Orlando's Virtual Line experience.
First off, make sure to download the Universal Orlando mobile app in order to use the Virtual Line experience. 
For the Best Chance at Grabbing a Grinch Meet & Greet Virtual Line Spot
Have the official Universal Orlando Resort app open, and start checking for a Virtual Line spot at 8:40AM. Remember—you’ll need to be on Universal Orlando property.
Don’t be alarmed if it's 8:40AM, and you already see the yellow bar saying no times left. I noticed it went away when the time slots opened up firs thing, to THEN popping up once they were all taken .
While you won't find an official time for when the Virtual Line spots open for the Grinch Meet and Greet-- Universal Orlando has documented several times to guests that they typically start dropping Grinch Virtual Line spots between 8:45-9:15am.
Note— You’ll need to be on property in order to reserve a time. That includes the Universal Orlando parking garage, CityWalk, or at your on-site Universal Orlando hotel.When your time slot it ready, you’ll head to Honk Honkers in Islands of Adventure to have your Virtual Line QR code scanned. I waited just under 30 minutes after scanning in.Step By Step Virtual Line Process for The Grinch Meet & Greet
Once you have the Universal Orlando app open, scroll until you see In the “Holidays” section.
Select the tab for “shows and more.”
Next, scroll down to find and click “The Grinch Meet and Greet at Honk Honkers.”
You will then see “virtual line pass.” Hit the word “reserve.”
Save time by downloading the App prior to your trip.
This will take you to a screen asking how many people. You’ll select the number of those your party wanting to meet the Grinch.
You’ll then hit the “Continue” button. If you’re lucky enough to have time slots open to meet the Grinch, hurry and click a time slot.
Hit the green, “Reserve Virtual Line Pass.”
From there, you should be good to go.
Always screenshot your QR codes in the event something wonky happens in the App.
You also have the option to edit your Grinch Meet and Greet time. However, I wouldn’t really recommend doing that. You risk losing the Virtual Pass that you originally made and not being able to reserve a new one. (If you try, it will say there are no available times and you can keep the original pass.)
If You’re an Universal Orlando Resort Passholder
The Grinch does *sometimes* randomly appear inside the UOAP lounge over in Universal Studios Florida. Times are random, but I have noticed him in the UOAP lounge at 11:00AM and 1:00PM.
