Below is a list of the parade times in 2025 (times can be subject to change, I recommend double-checking on the day of).

UOAP Mardi Gras Parade Viewing Area
Access to a reserved viewing area in front of Mel's Drive In. Arrive early as space is limited.
How to Experience the Mardi Gras Parade and Concert in One Night at Universal Orlando
It's important to be strategic with your parade spot, particularly if your are trying to experience the parade and one of the more popular Mardi Gras concerts.
If you want to attend an 8:30 p.m. Mardi Gras concert, snag a spot along the edge of the street right in front of Music Plaza Stage. This will allow you to turn around and find a spot inside the concert viewing area.
For example, I prefer to grab a spot across the street from Illumination's Minion Cafe about 45 minutes to an hour before the Mardi Gras parade starts. You'll be right at the front of that section when the barrier ropes are put in place. As soon as the parade ends, you'll be able to make your way to the concert viewing area quickly and shimmy your way closer to the front.
If your'e not too particular about where you watch the Mardi Gras parade, aim to find a parade spot at least 30 minutes ahead of time. If it's a weekend night, arrive 45 minutes early since the crowd levels are busier.
How to Use Virtual Line for Mardi Gras Float Riding in 2025
Search for Mardi Gras Parade on the Universal Orlando app, click the Virtual Line icon, select your Travel Party Members and, if any are available, choose your Virtual Line return time. (Use your speedy fingers because spots are extremely limited, and they can fill up as quickly as they appear!)
For 2025, a Virtual Line is available for guests trying to grab a free Mardi Gras float spot. You will want to be inside Universal Studios Florida before 2 pm. Start checking for a Virtual Line spot around 2 p.m. and continue checking up to one hour before the parade start time.
Return times will be released at random throughout the window and are subject to availability.
All Mardi Gras Foat riders must be at least 48 inches tall with a parent/adult guardian over 18 to sign a waiver. Floats are assigned at random when you arrive. The entire Float Riding experience lasts about 2 hours, so you’ll need to anticipate miss the start of the concert, but if seeing the show isn't a priority for you, we can't recommend this experience enough.
2025 Mardi Gras Float Ride & Dine Experience
One of my favorite experiences is booking Universal Orlando’s Float and Dine experience during Mardi Gras. This experience includes a reserved spot on a float.
Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine reservations are open now for 2025! This dining experience is the only way to guarantee your place on the float. Pricing starts at $89.99 per person (tax included). Separate theme park admission is required for the same date of booking and your purchase must have been made 24 hours prior to the event date.

2025 Mardi Gras Concerts at Universal Orlando
Every year during Universal's Mardi Gras celebration, there are special headliners who perform on select nights during the celebration. Mardi Gras Concerts are included with park admission. Concerts take place at Music Plaza Stage in Universal Studios Florida, and begin at 8:30 PM.
Depending on the performer, some guests may begin to line-up in the morning. If you’re keen on experiencing Mardi Gras for the concert, I recommend you skip the parade to make sure you get a good spot to watch the concert.
Mardi Gras Concerts begin shortly after the parade ends. The duration of each concert varies, but they typically last for an hour to an hour & a half.
If you don't mind missing the parade, I suggest you snag your grass area concert viewing spot an hour ahead of time. Concert crowds vary depending how popular the performer is that week. For Example T- Pain and Joe Jonas will bring in more guests compared to some of the other performers.

Beads and Brass Band
Periodically, you can catch this high energy marching band walking around Universal Studios Florida on Mardi Grass event days!
Honey's Mardi Gras Indians with NOLA Brass Band
New for 2025, is Honey's Mardi Gras Indians with NOLA Brass Band. A legendary figure in New Orleans' Mardi Gras Indian tradition, Irving "Honey" Bannister, Jr. is one of the longest running "masking" Mardi Gras Indians. As a form of both cultural expression and resistance, this performance honors African heritage and pays homage to Native American tribes that historically offered refuge to enslaved African. The dazzling beads, feathers and sequins represent the tribe's culture values, history and resilience.
Bannister mentos new generations of maskers within the Creole Wild West Indian Tribe and ensures that the customs and history of Mardi Gras Indians are passed on. Look for them near the French Quarter Food baths. You’ll see a sign with their showtimes. You can also check the Universal Orlando app for their showtimes.
Crowds Level at Universal During Mardi Gras
Weekdays have been historically less crowded – especially mid-week. Mardi Gras, can have heavy crowds, particularly during Spring Break, or a Holiday weekend.
Any Mardi Gras weekend that features 2 performers— those are the weekends where Universal will have larger crowds. For the lowest crowds during Mardi Gras, aim to visit during the weekdays. More Floridians have weekends off from work than weekdays.
Concerts also take place on Fridays and Saturdays, at 8:30pm pm. The concerts always pack the park. If you’re wanting to visit on a lower crowd day, avoid going on a concert night.

Last year Universal posted the sign up alert on the Universal Annual Passholder Facebook Group and Twitter.
Is Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Appropriate for Children?
Yes! Everything is kid-friendly, and it’ll make for a memorable family experience. The atmosphere is very festive, with lots of New Orleans party music. There’s also Mardi Gras “characters” who walk around, and they love interacting with kiddos. They’re known to hand out beads, and pose for family photos.
It’s not comparable to the real Mardi Gras in New Orleans or Halloween Horror Nights.
Where to Stay During Universal Mardi Gras?
Both on-site and nearby off-site hotels book up quickly, so I recommend that you make you hotel reservations as early as possible. Crowd levels have been historically pretty high after the end of February. This is due not only to the Mardi Gras event, but there’s always school holidays as well large conventions coming to Orlando where many hotels block off room for the convention attendees.
