Brief History on Slaughter Sinema Haunted House
The original Slaughter Sinema haunted house debuted at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 28 in 2018.
It was based on various fictional B-Movies.
Guests entered the Carey Drive-In, where movie previews of the latest B-movies were shown across an old screen flickering.
This set the stage for adventures into the films featuring sacrificial sororities, a ravenous swamp yeti, werewolf bikers, bloodthirsty children at a deranged kids’ arcade, and murderous barbers. As each 80's B-movie came to life, guests would try to avoid alien cannibals & more!
Fast forward to 2021 where guests revisited The Carey Drive-In during HHN 30’s Welcome to SCarey: Horror in the Heartland.
This haunted house took you through the town of Carey, Ohio. As you went through the house, posters from Slaughter Sinema were on the walls of a hallway. This set the stage right before you entered the frightening Meetz Meats deli.
Pumpkin Gutz! was one of the featured movies in the original Slaughter Sinema house, & it lead to my favorite house: Wicked Growth: Realm of the Pumpkin at HHN 30.
I love that some of Slaughter Sinema’s fictional films eventually became their own haunted houses, and HHN icons like Lil’ Boo, and the Pumpkin Lord eventually came to life too!
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort will start earlier than ever, with the event running from August 30 through November 3.
HHN 33 will feature 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, and live entertainment featuring the top names in horror entertainment.
Stayed tuned for more HHN announcements over the next few weeks!
