Best Times to Visit Universal Orlando Resort in 2025

Early to Mid-January, up until Spring Break Starts (Historically mid-February)

This window is awesome because the temperatures in Florida are usually cooler and there's less humidity. The holiday crowds have headed back home, and it’s right before the spring break crowds arrive.

Most Days in September (minus nights when Halloween Horror Nights is running)

September has historically been deemed as the best time to visit Orlando. Most September days should be awesome, but just remember that Halloween Horror Nights dates will increase crowds (and Universal Studios Florida will close EARLY for the event).

Most Weekdays in October and November (minus the week of Thanksgiving)

Keep in mind that Halloween Horror Nights is throughout October and runs through the first weekend of November.
Try AVOIDING the week of Thanksgiving, as that can be one of the busiest times at Universal Orlando Resort.

The Weeks Between Thanksgiving and Christmas

During the couple of weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when Thanksgiving crowds have gone back home and Christmas crowds have yet to arrive (kids are still in school)
Temperatures can be milder around this time, and Christmas decorations are also up.

Things to Consider

Aside from the major holidays β€” Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve β€” there are a few smaller holidays and events to keep in mind:
  • Veterans Day (Nov. 11 β€” a Tuesday in 2025)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 20, 2025)
  • Rock the Universe (a Christian music festival at the end of January)
The off-season in January and February can also see annual ride refurbishments (particularly for water rides) and shorter park hours until spring break season.
If the holiday festivities are a must-do, I'd suggest the first week or two of December, before schools are let out for Christmas break β€” or the week before or after Thanksgiving. Mid to late January is another great alternative if you want some of the lowest crowds of the year.
