Today, Universal Orlando Resort announced  more  details about Super Nintendo World, coming to Universal Epic Universe in 2025. 

The land consists of 2 lands,  3 rides, 1 quick service restaurant, snack stands, shops, interactive games, and tons of Blocks to hit for coins.

In this post, I’ll cover an overview of the new land, the 3 main attractions, dining options, what to expect, and more.

Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe will have 2 Lands:

Donkey Kong Country

The inclusion of Donkey Kong Country, in the U.S. for the first time, is certain to provide a new and unique experience.

• Donkey Kong Country has a more tropical vibe to  it. A lush, tropical landscape from the video game series, complete with tall trees, waterfalls, landmarks such as The Golden Temple and more.

• In Donkey Kong Country – you'll encounter thrills featuring Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and other members of the Kong family. 

• Surrounding guests in Donkey Kong Country will be its flagship attraction, Mine-Cart Madness, a whirlwind roller coaster with cutting-edge technology.  

In the coming months we’ll  learn more about Donkey Kong Country.

Mushroom Kingdom

• Towering Mt. Beanpole, Peach’s Castle, swaying Piranha Plants, pacing Goombas, spinning coins, ? Blocks and more. 

• In Super Mario Land  you can enjoy adventures alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and others.  

Land Overview— Super Nintendo World

Super Nintendo World is a two-story land in the middle of the Mushroom Kingdom. Guests will enter through a green warp pipe and travel up an escalator to the second floor of the land. 

Here’s a zoomed in look at the escalators that'll take you up to the second level after entering through the green warp pipe in Super Nintendo:

The warp pipe drops guests off in Princess Peach’s Castle where we see Bowser Jr. has stolen the Power Mushroom and you must stop him. 

Once inside  the Mushroom Kingdom-- On the right  is Yoshi’s Adventure, and on the left is the entrance to Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.

Exiting the castle you're  on the second floor of the land – Mario Kart and several offerings are on the second floor. Toadstool Cafe, Yoshi’s Adventure, and the pipe to Donkey Kong Country are on the first floor.

Super Nintendo World Rides and Attractions at Epic Universe

3 Super Nintendo World attractions:

• Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

• Yoshi’s Adventure

• Donkey Kong: Mine Cart Madness

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

Guests will make their way through Bowser’s Castle and join Team Mario to defeat Team Bowser. Just like the game, riders will throw shells, collect coins, and “drive” through courses in the clouds and underwater. 

The attraction fuses augmented reality, projection mapping technology and elaborate environments to bring the Mario Kart video game series to life in a ride-through experience.

• Height requirement: 40 inches (102 centimeters)

• Ride Time: 4.5 minutes

• Interactive dark ride

Yoshi’s Adventure

 Orlando will host the first Yoshi’s Adventure attraction in North America! This is a family-focused ride. You’ll hop onto a Yoshi and embark on a search for glowing eggs as you ride through the Mushroom Kingdom. 

• Height requirement: 36 inches (92 centimeters) Children under 48 inches will need an adult companion

• Ride Time: 4 minutes, 30 Secs

• Two-person Yoshi ride vehicles

Donkey Kong: Mine-Cart Madness

Guests will hop into a mine cart and careen through the jungle to help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the coveted golden banana on this first-of-its-kind family coaster. 

Utilizing an unprecedented ride system, innovative technology and a unique coaster design, Mine-Cart Madness will send riders on a thrilling adventure where they will experience the jaw-dropping maneuvers that they’ve seen Donkey Kong and the mine carts perform in the video games – including getting blasted out of a barrel, seemingly jumping over gaps as they speed along a rickety track, and  more.

• Height requirement: 36 inches (92 centimeters) Children under 48 inches will need an adult companion

• Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride

• Four-person ride vehicles

Super Nintendo World Character Meet and Greets

Guests can meet, greet and interact with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad throughout various areas in Super Mario Land.the lower levels of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Guests who have a Power-Up band will get an “enhanced experience” when meeting these characters.

Super Nintendo World Features 3 Types of Interactive Games for Guests to Play:

• Collect Stamps: Secret spots around SNW unlock reward stamps. You track your collection using the Universal app.

• Collect Keys: Collect keys by completing mini-games throughout the land to unlock the door to defeat Bowser Jr.

• Collect Coins: You can compete to receive the daily high score. Smash blocks to collect coins. Coins are tracked on the Universal app.

All 3 require owning a Power-Up Band.

Power-Up Bands

Guests can level up their fun in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD with the purchase of a Power-Up Band, a wearable for their wrist that allows them to enhance their play throughout Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country.

With the Power-Up Band, guests can collect digital coins by punching ? Blocks and playing interactive activities; collect digital stamps on attractions; earn digital keys to unlock an exclusive showdown against Bowser Jr.; and discover other hidden surprises. 

Guests can also access Leaderboard screens in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to see where they rank amongst fellow guests.

Super Nintendo World Key Challenges

At these interactive experiences throughout the land, you’ll test your quickness, skill, and timing in a variety of challenges. The challenges include:

• Bob-Omb Kaboom Room

  • This’ll be the first Bob-Omb Kaboom Room in North America!

• Goomba Crazy Crank

• Thwomp Panel Panic

• Koopa Troopa POWer Punch

• Piranha Plant Nap Mishap

For each challenge you win, you receive a digital key. Collect three keys with a Power-Up Band and you can play Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown, where you’ll battle to win the Golden Mushroom back from Bowser Jr.  

For each challenge guests win, they will receive a digital key. After collecting three keys with a Power-Up Band, guests can take on the Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown, where they’ll face off with Bowser Jr. to win back the Golden Mushroom.

Dining Options at Epic Universe’s SUPER NINTENDO WORLD

Toadstool Cafe

Toadstool Cafe will be the main dining location in Super Nintendo World. 

At Toadstool Cafe, guests can enjoy a variety of tasty dishes inspired by the world of Super Mario and its characters, including Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs and so much more. 

Full menu details will be released at a later date.

Guests will also get glimpses of several Toads cooking up culinary creations through various virtual windows as they dine inside the restaurant.

Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats

Guests can pick up delicious treats, snacks and beverages at these walk-up dining locations.

Tropical food inspired by Donkey Kong will also be available in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD with details to come at a later time.

Super Nintendo World Merchandise

Shop for souvenirs, apparel, toys and more inspired by your  favorite Super Mario characters and adventures within these retail locations.

You'll also be able to grab unique items that channel the spirit of the jungle with select merchandise available from the world of Donkey Kong Country!

Super Nintendo World Is 1 of 5 Worlds at Epic Universe

The other worlds include, Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk,  The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and Dark Universe.

Epic Universe will open in 2025.

Epic Universe Entrance

Celestial Park is the main hub for Epic Universe. 

It'll feature "rolling gardens, chasing waterways, and strolling pathways" alongside "architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements." Celestial Park will act as the gateway to the other worlds as there will be "portals" guests will travel through to get to their desired lands.
